Always curious

On and off the mat

I found healing through yoga and want to share that with others. It has been a great stress-reliever in my own life, and I want to help people with busy lives find calm. Showing up daily on the mat helped me become less rigid and structured with myself off the mat.

Frequently smiling

Everyone can enjoy and experience

I want to make yoga more accessible, so everyone gets to enjoy and experience the benefits of yoga and thereby contributing to positive change in people’s lives.

Forever learning

Balance

I love yoga because it brings you in to the now while you develop a better relationship and understanding of your body, mind, and spirit. It’s all about finding balance on and off the mat.

I simply love practicing and sharing yoga

I believe that any yoga practice leaves room for a lot of modifications, so it can be adapted to the person coming to it. I make an effort to make all asanas (postures) accessible to everyone through modifications and the use of props.

I am very passionate about proper alignment and adjustment for a healthy and safe practice, so students can enjoy the full benefits of yoga.

There is something for everyone for wherever they are right now. Yoga meets you exactly where you are. I bring a positive demeanour, lots of energy and relaxation to classes.

Ashtanga Primary

Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy

On a mental level, through regular practice focus, willpower, mind-body awareness and confidence are improved as we overcome the mental obstacles to our practice. On a subtle level the Primary series works therapeutically to clear obstacles in the energy channels in the body (known as Nadis).

Ashtanga Secondary Series

Nadi Shodhana

A sequence of poses designed to clear the nervous system and the energy channels of the subtle body known as the nadhis.

It fires up the sympathetic nervous system with the goal of creating stress on the nerves in a safe space to learn to cope with it in a non-stressful space. The deep backbends and the hip openers activate the sympathetic nervous system, and once the practitioners arrives in the finishing poses the focus shifts onto the parasympathetic system, enabling the practitioner to experience a deep state of relaxation at the end of the practice.

Traditional Hatha

Maintain balance

Including pranayama, mudras and pratyahara/dhyana

Yin yoga

Slow down

A quiet contemplative practice and works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles.

The breath slows down significantly, drawing you deeper and deeper into this parasympathetic, or relaxation, mode. This is where the internal organs get a chance to catch up on their own to-do list such as digest, eliminate toxins, heal and repair.

Guided meditation

Let go

Curiosity towards the Self begins to develop naturally in the mind. The mind is more prone to sit comfortably in stillness. As the nervous system—and therefore the senses—are being calmed, it becomes easier to observe the quality of the chitta, or mind.

Professionalism, passion and attention to detail – a perfect combination

January 15, 2024

I attended several classes by Judith, in a larger and in a small group, and I will certainly come again when in Goa. I extremely enjoyed Judith’s yoga classes. The classes are well-structured, the flow of poses is highly natural yet challenging enough for my level. During the practice I received plenty of personal attention and my physical capacities were taken into account. It was so fulfilling to complete the practice and feel that I learned a lot, as a yoga journey never ends. Judith’s warm personality and high professionalism made a lasting impression. Many thanks to Judith for this wonderful experience!

I have had the pleasure of being guided by Judith both in class environments and within a private lesson. I found her to be not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also kind and patient. I achieved my first headstand with her because I trusted her. I can highly recommend her.

A beautiful teacher, a beautiful person

January 4, 2024

My husband and I had the privilege of attending several of Judith’s classes over 2 weeks at the Bamboo Yoga retreat in Goa. Her authenticity and depth of knowledge was revealed in her calm clear and precise teaching. We felt fully supported when encouraged to find a deeper breath or movement. She held the class attention and taught in such a way that honoured this ancient practice. Off the mat Judith is a beautiful and friendly person.

Truly loved Judith’s guidance in both hatha and yin yoga. She is dedicated to teaching you each asana the way it is suppose to be and feel and is able to push you gently into a new, deeper level of stretching and lengthening your muscles. A classic, authentic and very good teacher!!

Inspiration

June 29, 2023

My wife and I had the privilege of meeting Judith and attending her classes she was taking at bamboo yoga retreat.

This requires having experts to beginners in the same class Judith does this with ease, being kind to people is in her D N A .

If you need assistance she is always there and knows if you need a push or more comfortable position .

Judith even recommended the best DJs to go and see !

I got inspired by Judith to improve my handstands and I wish she could run classes closer to my home.

Judith is fantastic at giving the joy of yoga

Thank you so much

My yoga journey
Always curious, frequently smiling, forever learning

I have very consciously chosen to do my yoga teacher training courses in India, the birthplace of yoga. I wanted to immerse myself fully in the yogic lifestyle and to dive deep into the ancient teachings of India.

My teachers are all Indian and they are the embodiment of yoga. It is very important to me to follow and pass on ancient and authentic yoga practices.

< 2018

Amsterdam

I had been practicing yoga for 15 years under the guidance of very diverse teachers, when I reached the point where I wanted to deepen my practice and broaden my understanding of yoga practices beyond physical poses.

2018-2019

London

My Indian teacher Dipu introduced me to a different type of yoga than I was used to: Sivananda Hatha yoga. For the first time I experienced the real calming effects on my mind and found peace in my mind. This inspired me to go deeper and find learning possibilities in India.

Sivananda Ashram, Neyyardam, Kerala

Dipu recommended me to go to Sivananda Ashram in Kerala for a yoga holiday to immerse myself in genuine yogic lifestyle with proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet and positive thinking & meditation. I learnt how discipline and a simple lifestyle can bring a wealth of insights. Most importantly I found that everything I need is already in me.

What is the feeling you get after a practice?

A relaxed, calm mind but energy and strength in the body. After practicing yoga you might feel more energetic and alert throughout the day.

A deep feeling of calmness. Yoga helps you to breathe deeper and relax will switch your nervous system into parasympathetic or “rest and digest” mode and calm you down.

Yoga’s many effects can all be traced back to a common mechanism: the functioning of the vagus nerve, which connects the brain (and therefore the mind) to the body.

Increased feeling of joy and happiness. Toning and strengthening your vagus nerve is not the only yoga superpower.

A regular yoga practice can also change your brain activity, spiking neurotransmitters responsible for communication between your brain and nervous system.
